Environments

There are two environments that can be used to interact with SVB APIs, sandbox and production. Once the client receives their sandbox credentials,

  • download the appropriate Postman environment below
  • update api_key and secret variables in the collection with the received credentials

Collections

Below are the SVB API Postman collections, including example API calls adhering to SVB conventions.

POSTMAN COLLECTIONS
VCN API  VCN_API_Postman_Collection
ACH API  ACH_API_Postman_Collection
Counterparty API  Counterparties_Postman_Collection
Webhooks  Webhooks_Postman_Collection

Note: To import the collections, right click on the above collection link, "save as" JSON file, and import the JSON file as a new collection on Postman.

Using the Collections

Once credentials are properly entered on the environment, there are no further modifications needed to use the provided Postman collections. Below are the environment variables that need to be filled:

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
Field Description
api_key Api key string provided by SVB
secret Secret string provided by SVB
URL SVB Host URL

After entering the environment variables, POST endpoint can be used to create a VCN or an ACH transfer. Returned VCN/ACH transfer ID can be further used to test other endpoints provided in the collection.

For ease of use, below variables are used in the collections:

On some Postman versions, requests with variables may fail, in such cases, remove the variable and use the exact value instead (i.e. instead of "v1/ach/{{ach_id}}" use "v1/ach/14141"
